Not the right choice for: Indoor display where you want dense, solid colour — the perforations make mesh look slightly lighter than the same artwork on PVC.
Why solid banners fail on scaffold
A solid banner on an exposed frame catches wind like a sail. The load goes into the eyelets and the fixings, and either the banner tears at the corners or the fixings pull out. Mesh lets the wind through and the load never builds.
How it prints
Perforation means roughly 30% of the surface is holes, so colours read slightly lighter than on PVC. We account for that when preparing your file — if you're matching a PVC banner already on site, tell us and we'll adjust.
Fixing
Bungees or cable ties through eyelets every 500mm, tensioned evenly. Over-tightening one corner is the most common cause of a mesh banner distorting.
Common questions
Is mesh strong enough for scaffolding?+
Yes — it's the standard specification for it. The strength comes from the reinforced hem and correct fixing spacing, not the material's solidity.
Can you see through a mesh banner?+
Barely, from the front at distance. From behind, in daylight, you can see through it — which is why it works on scaffold where light still needs to reach the building.
Does mesh print as brightly as PVC?+
Very nearly. The 30% open area makes colours read a little lighter, which we compensate for at the file stage.
